The mission of the New Jersey Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services is to enable individuals with disabilities to achieve employment outcomes consistent with their strengths, priorities, needs, abilities and capabilities.

The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services is here to help individuals with disabilities that are having trouble finding or holding a job because of their disability. If you have a disability that is preventing you from working, or which is endangering your present employment, you may wish to submit a referral for services.

Legend Descriptions
EE = Extended (sheltered) employment is a program designed to provide long term employment by the community rehabilitation program of a client/worker who is presently unable to work in the competitive labor market. An individual is frequently paid less than minimum wage based upon time studies identifying his/her ability.
SE = Supported employment services are on-going support services provided to an individual in a competitive integrated environment. This program is intended for those who require intensive individual training on or off the work site and who, once they have learned the job and other routines, will require long term follow along services, on the job site and/or off the job site.
PVE = Pre-vocational evaluation is a comprehensive, individualized and systematic process in which an individual, in partnership with the evaluator and DVRS counselor, learns to identify vocational options consistent with his or her abilities, capabilities, preferences and interests and to develop employment goals and objectives.
WAT = Work adjustment training is a comprehensive, individualized service that assists persons seeking employment to develop or reestablish skills, attitudes, personal characteristics, work behaviors, and/or functional capacities, to achieve the identified integrated employment outcome.
